Segredo
Segredo
Segredo was inspired by Brazilian artist Ernest Neto art installations. My favorite quote of him is “O grande
segredo é que a saúde está na alegria e na dimensão espiritual” that means something like “The big secret is that
health comes from joy and spiritual dimension”. For me sounds like the basic, the first step of a sustainable way of
living! He is a contemporary artist, and his installations are about the connection and healing from the way that we
live! His message inspired me to make a sweater out of the ordinary, with tiny sparkles of light! It is super fun to
knit, and its innovative sleeve motif with sequins creates a unique textured effect! The style is what I like to call, a
“petite boxy” shape, where the body has a certain amount of positive ease (not as much as a traditional boxy top)
with fitted sleeves. For Segredo I choose “balloonish” sleeves (no shaping until the cuffs), to enhance the texture
fabric with sequins. I must say that this “petite boxy” is one of my very favorite styles, because it dresses
beautifully any body type! Segredo is one of the patterns from the Sparkly Eyes and Warm Heart Collection, a
collaboration with HandDyed Yarns by Charlotte Spagner! I hope you have a great knitting time and enjoy wearing
your Segredo sweater!

This sweater is seamless, worked in the round from the top down, with raglan sleeves.
Change to longer length circulars while working the yoke, when needed.
Sltch marker is posiloned at the middle / center of the back.
The back neck is shaped with short rows for a bemer fit. The direclons indicate the Wrap & Turn method;
however, you can use your favorite method to work the short rows!
The sleeves are worked circular from the top down with a sequin sltch molf. There is a photo tutorial about
adding sequins at the end of the pamern.
To avoid underarm holes, the direclons indicate pick up and k1 st on the row below the diagonal line formed
between the body casted on stitches and the sleeve stitches that were on hold. There is a photo tutorial at the
end of the pamern.
